Blog is needed at DWL. Great idea. Why do we want to list all the members: most fo not have e-mail. Phone numbers and years of membership

The list would be members names, phone number and e-mail (if available). Other information can be added as desired and if needed,

Great night at the Junior Warden's cookout on Monday. Nice to see Brothers from several other Lodges. Masonic Awareness at work as there were two pre-applications completed.

It was very clear that there seems to be some sort of backdoor dealings going on in the lodge. why would anyone think that having 2 signatures required on any banking activity is a bad thing? Why would anyone think that having the finance committee approval on any transfer of lodge funds is unecessary?
whu would the treasurer say in open lodge that it is impossible to open or close account without 2 signatures already, then close the Angel fund account without notifying the trustees, or without getting the required 2 signatures, and then put the money in a new account. ALL WITHOUT FINANCE COMMITTEE APPROVAL, THE REQUIRED 2 SIGNATURES, OR THE NOTIFICATION OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE ANGEL FUND? This action caused a check to bounce that was written on that account, and left a black mark on our reputation as a good and charitable organization. As a result ot that action, a motion was made to close that loophole, as it were, and to make sure that no accounts were opened or closed without Lodge approval. Nothing more. what could possibly be the reason for the new :Master' to order a reversal of the vote of the Lodge? Folks, a motion was made, thoroughly discussed, voted upon, and passed, to have the treasurer meet with the Secretary, have proper forms signed, and make sure this doesn't happen again. Instead the Treasurer ignored repeated phone calls, email and other requests to meet, and abide by the will of the Lodge. Again, to what end? I can see no harm in having 2 people sign off on account activity, with finance committee approval. I can see plenty of harm in having 1 man moving accounts as he sees fit, without any authorixation, or anyone to answer to. If you can't abide by the vote of the Lodge without concocting some backdoor way to circumvent the will of the Lodge, step down, and stop driving members away with the 'town hall' style politics. It appears the CSL plague is spreading.

I too was terribly dissappointed in Moday night's meeting. As a clarification, the Treasurer stated at the Septembe's meeting that he could not open any account without the Secretary's knowledge, a the opening of any account required the officcial sesl of the Lodge. something does not ring true, as he had already closed and then opened a new accocunt for the Angel fund with out going throught the proper channels. Opposition of the motion only gives the appearance that there is something to be hidden or a lack of transpareny that no good business would tolerate.
The Master's behavior was an embarassment, as he clearly does not understand his obligation, or proper masonic ettiquette. He should be made to realize that the gavel is an istrument of last resort, and that he governs the Lodge ONLY with the consent of the governed.
A vote was taken in september, and the Lodge's will must be obeyed. Given the problems of finance that have arisen in other Lodges and masonic bodies, the motion made was entirely reasonable and prudent. The Lodge will not be run by appointed committees, the Master is to govern with equal regularity and it is his responsibility to make sure that he votes of the lodge are enforced, not the agendas of those he is close with personally. This political maneuvering will not be tolerated in the Lodge...period.
I call on every Past Master of Daniel Webster Lodge to counsel the current Mater, and show him the error of his ways.

I too was distraught at Monday night's meeting. I have traveled throughout the district and attended many business meeting in every Lodge, and have never witnessed the kind of 'My way or the Highway' attitude as I saw that night. Brother Love, Relief , Truth. These are the tenets of our profession, and the reason I joined the Lodge, yet I see an increasing divisivness among the members, and no amount of gavel rapping to silence brothers will help. Hypocrisity and deceit are supposedly unknown among us. sincerity and plain dealings supposedly distringuish us. By trying to recall a vote of the Brethren about a seemingly common business practice of having 2 signatures and the finance committee approval on fiscal matters lends an air of hypocrisity and deceit to the leadership of the Lodge
I urge Wor. younker to reconsider his position on this matter, and to look forward to the future of the Lodge. It is my opinion that the motion was designed to protect the Lodge, and reinforce procedures already in place, and to cover the treasure's ass, so to speak, in case someone wants to open or close accounts without Lodge approval. what could possible be the reason for not wanting to protect the Lodge in this way.
Les us instead concentrate on our assigned duties: subduing our passions and improving ourselves (and our community) through Masonry. It';s on page 4 in the cipher. Hell, it's the 2nd question we were asked.
Respectfully, Dave
